Netanyahu 'cancels' Bieber date over snubbed kids - ABC News ...

The bad news is that Justin Bieber, whose manager is Jewish, has been spending a week in Israel.

Children from the region bordering Gaza were invited to be special guests at Justin Bieber's show in Tel Aviv on 14 April 2011.

These children have allegedly been targeted by rockets fired from the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

The good news is that Justin Bieber's proposed meeting with Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has fallen through.

Justin allegedly refused to meet with the invited children.

Justin's people have denied that Justin snubbed the children or Netanyahu.

Justin's people say the meeting was never finalised.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz said Netanyahu cancelled the meeting because of Justin's unwillingness to meet the children.

A government official said: "The prime minister was approached to meet with Justin Bieber.

"The prime minister was open to the idea and wanted to bring children from southern Israel in order for them to have an enjoyable experience.

"In the end, it was unfortunately not possible."

Justin Bieber said on Twitter: "I want to see this country and all the places I've dreamed of and whether it's the paps (paparazzi) or being pulled into politics, it's been frustrating".

According to the UK's Jewish Chronicle, Justin Bieber, a practicing Christian, was scheduled to tour the Dead Sea, Masada and Caesarea.

But, Justin has said that aggressive photographers have forced him to spend the rest of his trip in his hotel room.

"You would think paparazzi would have some respect in holy places," Bieber wrote. "All I wanted was the chance to walk where Jesus did here in Israel."

"They should be ashamed of themselves. Take pictures of me eating but not in a place of prayer, ridiculous ...

"People wait their whole lives for opportunities like this, why would they want to take that experience away from someone ...

"Staying in the hotel for the rest of the week u happy?"

Many thanks to A13 for the link.
